‘Spymasters’ Depicts ‘Battle for the Soul’ of CIA in War on Terror

Showtime’s “The Spymasters: The CIA in the Crosshairs,” debuting Nov. 28, gives a candid assessment of where the agency is at a key moment — the escalating threat of ISIS.

The documentary includes interviews with current CIA director John Brennan as well as all living former chiefs of the agency, including former President George H.W. Bush. What is apparent is that there is a new concern over intelligence gathering from this new kind of terrorism.

The Alan Colmes Show

When The Bush Administration Knew 9/11 Was Coming:

Thursday on “The Alan Colmes Show,” Alan spoke with documentary filmmaker Chris Whipple, who has created the new Showtime documentary The Spymasters: CIA In The Crosshairs, in which Whipple talks to all 12 living former CIA directors. The film is making headlines because of new revelations about how many times the Bush administration was warned about a terrorist attack before the summer of 2001.

Whipple told Alan what former CIA director George Tenet revealed about that meeting (and why Tenet is a “tortured soul”), why the Clinton Administration wanted Osama bin Laden captured and not killed, why all of the former directors he spoke with are not on the same side on the issue of torture.
